Ira Marcus graduated from New York Law School in 2012, however, his legal training began from the earliest age. His Father, Paul, raised Ira to think like an attorney and even better, prepared him to be one. As a third generation attorney, Ira continues his Father’s practice of serving clients across Florida at Ira M. Marcus P.A., but Ira also gained a wide range of experiences and skills outside of the law. Ira studied at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin – a top 5 business school in the country – from which he graduated in 2009.

In that financial and small business planning is a critical aspect of divorce and family law, Ira brings this business background to his practice in assisting clients prosper financially through and after a divorce. As a small business owner himself, Ira understands business and finances and applies his knowledge to all aspects of his work on behalf of his clients.

In addition to attorney, Ira is also a professional poker player, having competed in the World Series of Poker for many years. Far from just “gambling”, Ira cultivated his skills at poker by learning to read people and situations while calculating odds and statistics on the fly and making difficult, high-stakes decisions. Ira brings these same skills and unique perspective to negotiation and litigation in the family law arena. The ability to remain level-headed and focused while working towards maximally beneficial outcomes for his clients under high-stress circumstances is often the critical factor that can lead to the best possible outcome for his clients.
